Maverick Downtown

It was the first time I stayed in a hostel. And I had a good experience. It was very comfortable, clean and has a great location. Staff are helpful. The hair dryer in my room did not work well and I asked the staff, they give me a new one. so kind.

It is a perfect place, do not skip if avaliable. From location to value for money, from safety to in-hostel facilities and the fast crisis management capabilities. Staff were always so helpful and full of suggestions. This place also has wine nights to meet other travelers. I especially loved the French windows that gave full view of ferenciek tere and two 5-star hotels, the best square in budapest.

I stayed 5 nights in this hostel. And it was the best decision. The hostel is situated in the very city centre. In addition, there are metro station and bus stop 1 min away. In thus building there are Lidl , Starbucks and other cafes. The personal are very nice, polite and friendly. You can leave your luggage for free if you have a late flight (after check out). The beds are very comfortable. And each guest is provided by a towel. It was very warm inside the rooms (I stayed in December). The kitchen is equipped with everything - stove, kettle, refrigerator, microwave, tea and coffee. Tye only thing - you should bring a small locker with you to keep your things in the box OR you can buy it from the reception (price was 5€). I highly recommend Maverick ensuites!

We are very satisfied about our stay in the hostel. We knew that it will be nice expierience but it was better then we expected. We decided to stay in this hostel because there is a possibility to leave the luggage before check in and after check out and we were arriving and leaving Budapest with night buses. When we arrived in the morning, appart from leaving luggage we were invited to make ourselves tea/coffe, use the kitchen, what was perfect after 13 hours in the night bus. All the people who we met at the reception were very nice. The person who was making check in for us, showed us on a map all the important places to see in Budapest. The room, bathrooms and kitchens were very clean. Its amayzing that they manage to keep it so clean when all the time the hostel is nearly full and so many people are not cleaning after themselves. We stayed in a room for 8 people and the room was very big (after reading the opinions I was prepared for sth very small but it was opposite). Kitchens are well equipped and there is tea (different kinds), coffe, sugar and cream which you can use. We didnt have any problems with queues to the bathroom even the hostel was full (which I was expecting after reading previous opinions) - every time when I wanted to use the bathroom one of them was free. Additionally: the localisation of the hostel is just perfect and the building is so, so beautiful. Everywhere is close, metro station is few meters away and there is Lidl exactly in the same building. If we come back to Budapest again we would definitelly look for places in this hostel again.

I ended up at Maverick Downtown quite by chance – and I'm genuinely grateful I did. My main goal was to rest, and this place offered a peaceful and well-organized stop in the heart of Budapest. For future guests, a friendly tip: be sure to read/ask for the house rules in advance. They’re clear, but attention to details will make your stay smoother. Lockers are available, and you can purchase a lock at the reception if needed. The staff were especially attentive and supportive – available 24/7 and always ready to help, even with the smallest questions. I was impressed by their professionalism, their ease in communicating with international guests, and their warm, welcoming attitude. Thank you for the kind atmosphere and for making my short stay so comfortable!
